AHA PALS Provider Update Course (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Are you a healthcare provider who responds to pediatric emergencies in a hospital, clinic, or pre-hospital setting? Specialized care is vital when treating children, and the American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course is the standard for equipping you with those critical skills. This course empowers you to recognize, prioritize, and manage life-threatening pediatric cardiopulmonary conditions.
This PALS Provider Update course is for participants who have valid PALS Provider certification that has not yet expired.
Course Overview & Key Benefits
The official AHA PALS course emphasizes a systematic, hands-on approach to pediatric assessment, effective respiratory management, and high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Following the latest AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC, you will participate in dynamic, case-based scenarios (PALS Megacode) designed around the most common pediatric emergencies.
• Systematic Approach: Master the initial assessment and stabilization of critically ill or injured children
• Effective Intervention: Learn to manage pediatric respiratory emergencies, shock and pediatric cardiac arrest
• Official Certification: Receive your two-year AHA PALS Provider Certification (eCard) upon successful course completion
What You Will Learn
Our comprehensive PALS training covers critical topics for providers caring for infants and children:
• Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT) and Systematic Approach
• Management of Pediatric Respiratory Failure and Shock
• PALS Algorithms for Bradycardia, Tachycardia and Cardiac Arrest
• Post-Resuscitation Care
• Effective communication and PALS team dynamics
• Develop strategies to stay calm and focused during pediatric resuscitation
