A pre-employment drug test is conducted prior to the hire of a new employee to ensure they are not using.
A drug consortium is a key part of a company’s program to deter employees from using drugs and misusing alcohol because it offers the element of surprise. While employees know that random tests are done, they do not know when they will be selected. We organize and administrate the testing, reducing your role in managing the process. To get started, your company would need to provide an employee listing. Each quarter thereafter, you will be contacted to ensure the employee listing is up-to-date prior to quarterly random pick selection.
A reasonable suspicion drug test is administered when a company official observes suspicious behavior from an employee that is characteristic of drug abuse.
After an employee is involved in a work-related accident, a post-accident drug screen is performed to see if drugs or alcohol played a factor. Post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug screens after regular clinic hours are performed at the Laboratory, located on the first floor of Trinity Hospital (701-857-5210). Unless patient condition warrants, a visit to the Emergency Room is not necessary. Please note that a company representative needs to contact the Lab or Emergency Room every time a drug screen is to be performed to identify the type and reason for the screen (DOT, non-DOT, post-accident, or reasonable suspicion).
