Trinity Health Foundation provides a stipend for Addiction Student Interns. One recent intern had the following to say about the financial assistance she received, “This internship with Trinity’s chemical dependency unit will allow me to expand my knowledge about addiction counseling and help me learn new skills and further enhance my current level of expertise. This internship will help me gain work experience by practicing with a licensed addiction counselor. It will also help me meet other professionals in the chemical dependency field and see the role they play in our patient’s lives,” said Sommeral Turner. The stipend for these interns is made possible through a generous gift from a donor.
Radiologic Technology Scholarship
Trinity Health Foundation would like to congratulate Tamara Romesha, who received the Michelle Keller Scholarship award. This scholarship is made possible through the Michelle Keller Radiologic Technology Endowment fund within Trinity Health Foundation and benefits students from the Trinity Hospital School of Radiologic Technology.
Trinity Health Foundation continues to address the projected shortage of nurses across the United States through its Nursing Scholarship Program. The goal of the scholarship program is to build a vibrant and talented pool of nurses who will provide the best care possible and improve the health and wellness of our region.
More than 40 students applied to be considered for scholarships. Thanks to a generous gift from the Hearst Foundation, Trinity Health Foundation was able to award twelve students with scholarships of $3,750 each! Upon learning that they were selected for a scholarship, some of the recipients shared the following comments:
“I would like to thank all of the donors who contributed to make this scholarship possible. Being selected as a recipient is an honor and a blessing to me and my family. It will definitely help to lessen the financial burden, and for that we are very grateful.” Lucas Kolden
“I am very honored to receive the Trinity Health Foundation Scholarship. I want to thank all those who made a financial contribution to make this scholarship possible. Thank you for investing in my future and believing in me.” Mosope Osiyale
“This scholarship means so much to me. It not only boosts my confidence and reassures me that Trinity will be a wonderful place to work, but it relieves so much stress and worry. This scholarship will allow me to be a better mother and student instead of worrying about picking up extra shifts to make ends meet. To everyone who supports the scholarship fund, thank you so very much; your contributions are very appreciated!” Jennifer Fettig
A banquet was held in January 2019 to recognize these students and their achievements. Trinity Health Foundation congratulates all the scholarship recipients on this accomplishment and wishes them continued success in the future.
The opportunity given to these students would not have been possible without the many wonderful donations that have been given to the Nursing Scholarship Fund. We cannot thank the donors enough for not only making a difference in the lives of these students, but for also impacting the lives of the patients and families that these students will serve daily after their graduation.
