Hospice and Palliative Care Education

Knowledge is power when it comes to maintaining or improving quality of life, especially for someone who is at the end of life. Hospice and palliative care are two of those options that help to improve your or a family member’s quality of life.
Hospice

Hospice, medical care toward that goal, is available to the patient and family when life prognosis is six months or less. Hospice care also offers practical support for the caregiver(s) during the illness and grief support after death.

Palliative Care

Palliative care is specialized medical care for people with serious illness. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage during the serious illness and you can have it along with curative treatment. The goal is to relieve symptoms and stress and improve quality of life. Palliative care offers comprehensive support in addition to that received by your primary care provider and medical specialists.
