Building Hope Women's Golf Tournament
Trinity Health Foundation and Premier Sponsor Midco held the 25th Building Hope Women’s Golf Tournament on Monday, June 12, 2023, at Souris Valley Golf Course. In recognition of its 25th Anniversary, brunch was held before the tournament with a message from guest speaker Jessie Veeder, who shared her story and musical gift with the audience.
A shotgun start at noon kicked off the tournament, which featured 36 teams. Golfers also participated in a contest for longest putt, drive, and hole-in-one.
Proceeds totaled $36,526, benefiting the Trinity Health CancerCare Patient Assistance Fund. This fund provides cancer support programs free of charge to cancer patients, including exercise rehabilitation, direct patient financial assistance, and the purchase of necessary equipment for Trinity Health’s CancerCare Center.
Golf for Life
Trinity Health Foundation held its annual Golf for Life Men’s Golf Tournament on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Souris Valley Golf Course.
A shotgun start kicked off the tournament, which featured 33 teams. Golfers also participated in a contest for longest putt, drive, and hole-in-one.
This year, a new element was introduced to the tournament called the Chopper Drop—a 50-50 raffle where golf balls were purchased for a chance to win up to $5,000. During the awards ceremony, a helicopter flew over the golf course, pouring the bucket of numbered balls out the window. The ball closest to the target won the cash prize, totaling $1,960.
Proceeds from the event totaled $33,623, benefiting the Trinity Health Cancer Exercise Rehab program, which provides clinical exercise and conditioning for cancer patients and survivors to help them gain strength and resilience. “The primary goals consist of helping individuals build muscle mass, muscle strength and endurance, cardio-respiratory capacity, flexibility, and improve functional ability,” said Wade McDowell, Director of Trinity Health’s Exercise Physiology Department.

Horn of Plenty Turkey Drive
The Horn of Plenty provides families in need within a 100 mile radius of Minot with assistance right before Christmas. This help comes in the form of a turkey, perishable food items (potatoes, onions, milk, butter, etc.), Marketplace Foods voucher for non-perishable food items, and if the family has children, toys that can be used as Christmas gifts. The Horn of Plenty does not just provide the family with one meal – it provides a week’s worth of groceries at a critical time during the year. In the past three years, more than 1,000 families have benefitted through the Turkey Drive and the Horn of Plenty.
