Trinity Homes has lifted restrictions on visitation to the facility. Visitor restrictions went into effect in mid-February due to an increase in flu activity in the community.
“We’ve seen a decrease in influenza numbers in the community and here at Trinity Homes, which is why we’ve been able to lift the restrictions,” said Erica Clemens, RN, BSN, Infection Preventionist. “We still have ‘Cover Your Cough’ signs up at the entrances along with masks and hand sanitizer, and we continue to stress that people exhibiting signs of flu-like symptoms should avoid visiting.”
Clemens says she and other staff continue to monitor flu activity at the long-term care center and will reinstate restrictions if warranted to protect residents.
She says people should continue to clean their hands often with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand cleaner; avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth; avoid close contact with people who are sick; practice good respiratory etiquette; and ask others to cover their mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing.
