Trinity Health recently completed a year-long program hosted by Mayo Clinic, aimed at improving the efficiency of emergency care and reducing how long patients spend in the emergency/trauma center.
As a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network for over 13 years, Trinity Health worked alongside Mayo Clinic experts and other healthcare organizations across the country as part of a Learning Collaborative program to study patient flow and identify opportunities to deliver care more quickly. The effort recently culminated in a visit to Mayo Clinic, where the Trinity Health team presented their findings.
Through the Learning Collaborative, Trinity Health implemented a series of changes designed to help patients be seen and treated sooner. Early results show meaningful improvements, including faster patient care and fewer patients leaving before being seen.
“Being a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network opens doors for our organization that benefits the patients we serve, and this collaboration is a great example of that. Working together and sharing best practices, we found real ways to get patients seen and treated sooner, which makes a meaningful difference for families across our region,” said Jeffery Sather, MD, MBA, FACEP, Medical Director of Trinity Health’s Emergency/Trauma Center.
Through its membership in the Mayo Clinic Care Network, Trinity Health has access to Mayo Clinic’s knowledge and expertise, allowing patients to benefit from additional resources while remaining close to home.
