(MINOT, ND) – After all the barbecues and summer outings, North Plains CrossFit wants to give Souris Valley residents a chance to get ‘fit for fall’. North Plains will host its first ever SoVa Games Saturday, September 10th, at the Minot Family YMCA.
CrossFit Coach Brandon Foster, CSCS, USAW-L1SPC, CF-L1, says the day-long competition will feature five events involving strength and cardio exercise. He emphasizes that all comers are welcome.
‘It’s a CrossFit style competition, but we’ll have three divisions to accommodate all ability and skill levels, so absolutely anybody can participate,’ Foster said.
People can participate in any of the three divisions: Rx (prescribed), Scaled or Casual. Prizes will be awarded to the top three contenders in each division, and all participants will receive a T-shirt. Lunch will be provided with support from the Otto Bremer Foundation.
‘This will be a great opportunity to get more involved with the fitness community in Minot and to get the competitive juices flowing again,’ Foster said, adding, ‘It should be a lot of fun.’
Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the first event will start at 9:00. Three events will be held in the morning, followed by a long break for lunch and two more events in the afternoon.
Cost is $30 before September 10th and $35 the day of the event. People may register online at www.ymcaminot.org or in person at the Minot Family YMCA. Any questions about the SoVa Games or North Plains CrossFit may be directed to Brandon Foster. Click here to e-mail: [email protected]
