(MINOT, ND) – The Trinity Health Auxiliary has proclaimed September 14th Healthy Hearts Day, with two events planned to help people live a heart healthy lifestyle.
A Brunch Symposium featuring ‘yogurt parfait buffet’ will get underway at 9 a.m. at the Grand Hotel. Several Trinity Health professionals will be on hand to give tips on how to make lifestyle changes with suggestions on diet and exercise. Tickets for the brunch are $15 per person.
Then at 11 a.m. registration will begin for a men’s and women’s Golf Scramble at Souris Valley Golf Course. The Golf Scramble will offer major prizes for anyone who shoots a hole-in-one, including a 2015 Buick Encore, airline tickets for two and a set of Callaway irons. Golf fees are $350 per team of four and include a golf cart and four brunch tickets.
Proceeds from both events will go to support the Auxiliary’s Healthy Hearts Club, a source of education and support for heart patients or anyone interested in pursuing a heart healthy lifestyle.
‘Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women, killing 610,000 Americans every year,’ said Jordan Schmitt, Marketing Representative for Trinity’s Occupational Medicine and a Healthy Hearts Club volunteer. ‘Our purpose is to provide support and education to people who’ve suffered a heart event or are simply interested in making heart healthy choices.’
