(MINOT, ND) – The Trinity Health Auxiliary has proclaimed September 12th Healthy Hearts Day, with two events planned to help people live a heart healthy lifestyle.
A Brunch Symposium will get underway at 9 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Riverside. Trinity Health Cardiologist Emad Dodin, MD, and Stroke and STEMI Coordinator Jerilyn Alexander, RN, will present the latest information on prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Tickets for the brunch are $15 per person.
At 11 a.m. registration will begin for a men’s and women’s Golf Scramble at Vardon Golf Club. The Golf Scramble will offer major prizes including airline tickets, a set of Callaway irons, a flat screen TV and $20,000 to anyone who shoots a hole-in-one. Golf fees are $500 per team of four and includes two golf carts.
Proceeds from both events will go to support the Auxiliary’s Healthy Hearts Club, a source of education and support for heart patients or anyone interested in pursuing a heart healthy lifestyle.
‘Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women, killing 610,000 Americans every year,’ said Jordan Schmitt, Marketing Representative for Trinity’s Occupational Medicine and a Healthy Hearts Club volunteer. ‘Our purpose is to provide support and education to people who’ve suffered a heart event or are simply interested in making heart healthy choices.’
