On June 9, Trinity Health Foundation held its 27th Annual Building Hope Women’s Golf Tournament and 3rd Annual Chopper Drop at Souris Valley Golf Course. 36 teams participated in the tournament, which made for a fun day of golf while supporting a great cause.
Trinity Health Foundation’s 50-50 raffle, Chopper Drop, had a first this year. In this raffle, a bucket of golf balls is dropped from a helicopter flying over Souris Valley Golf Course, and the ball that lands closest to the pin wins a cash prize. This year, the winning ball was a hole-in-one.
The outstanding support raised $35,738, which will go toward the purchase of a state-of-the-art 3D mammogram system with biopsy capabilities. Acquiring this crucial system will represent a significant advancement for breast care throughout the region.
This year’s tournament theme was “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” with Midco as the supporting sponsor. Teams arrived in festive attire and ensured their golf carts were also decorated. Congratulations to Holly Johnson, Danielle Foster, Jade Teske and Lauryn Keller for finishing in first place among the 36 teams.
“A huge thank you to all the sponsors, participants and volunteers who made Building Hope such a success,” said Darla Miller, Foundation Manager. “This event is a significant milestone in our region’s fight against breast cancer.”
