Trinity Health Foundation has kicked off its 8th annual Turkey Drive to put turkeys and other fare on the tables of needy families this holiday season.
Director Al Evon says the Foundation is again partnering with the KHRT Horn of Plenty to raise funds for turkeys, toys, and other provisions, which will be distributed to families within a 100-mile radius of Minot just before Christmas.
“The Horn of Plenty doesn’t just provide the family with one meal, it provides a week’s worth of groceries at a critical time during the year,” Evon said. “More than 1,000 families have benefitted from the Turkey Drive and the Horn of Plenty in the past three years. This year, our goal is to raise $10,500 to assist in this effort.”
Donations can be made in any amount, but $15 is the amount needed to sponsor a turkey and $45 to sponsor an entire gift box. “We hope the community will join with Trinity’s staff, volunteers, and board members to make a difference in the health of the community and give families hope at a critical time of the year,” Evon added.
The Turkey Drive will run through December 5. People may contribute by sending their donations to Trinity Health Foundation Turkey Drive, PO Box 5020, Minot, ND 58702-5020, by visiting the Foundation’s website at trinityhealth.org/foundation/donate-to-the-foundation/turkey-drive-to-benefit-the-horn-of-plenty, or by dropping it off at the Trinity Health Foundation office on the 2nd floor of Trinity Hospital – St. Joseph’s.
In addition, representatives from Trinity Health Foundation will be stationed at various locations around Trinity Health between November 1 and December 5 to receive donations for the Turkey Drive.
