(MINOT, ND)—Trinity Health’s Nutrition Services Department hopes to boost the supermarket savvy of people affected by diabetes with a grocery store tour Thursday, Nov. 8, from 6 to 7 p.m. at MarketPlace Foods, 1930 South Broadway.
A registered dietitian will lead participants on an aisle-by-aisle tour of the store, providing tips on how to make healthy food choices while managing diabetes. Eating healthy is one of the keys to achieving good glucose control.
The American Diabetes Association states that diabetes affects nearly 30 million children and adults in the U.S. or nearly 10% of the population. Another 86 million Americans have pre-diabetes or are at risk for developing Type 2 diabetes.
Participants are instructed to meet at the east entrance of MarketPlace Foods, near the deli. RSVP is requested by calling 857-5268 by November 7.
