Jill Martinson-Redekopp is a native of Garrison, North Dakota. She attended North Dakota State University and received her optometric degree from Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, CA. Dr. Martinson-Redekopp received the Distinguished Service Award from the North Dakota Optometric Association. She is the Past President of the North Dakota State Board of Optometry where she served for 25 years. She is the past Chair of the Council on Optometric Practitioner Education for the Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry. She is the past President of the Board of Directors for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. She is currently serving as liaison from the Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry to the Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.

An Optometrist is concerned with eyes, as well as vision, visual systems, and vision information processing. Optometrists are also qualified to diagnose and treat various eye diseases such as infections and glaucoma.
