(MINOT, ND) – Trinity Health announced today it has placed Neurosurgeon Marc Eichler, MD, on administrative suspension after learning of his arrest Wednesday on charges of gross sexual imposition and luring minors by computer.
Vice President Randy Schwan said arrangements are currently underway to maintain neurosurgical coverage at Trinity Health and to ensure that excellent patient care continues while the investigation proceeds.
‘We’re shocked and dismayed at this news,’ Schwan said. ‘Our thoughts and prayers are with every person involved in these allegations.’ He said currently there are no allegations of inappropriate behavior involving patients in Dr. Eichler’s medical practice.
Eichler joined Trinity Health in 2011 after establishing a reputation as a distinguished neurosurgeon, author and speaker on spinal disorders. During his tenure at Trinity he’s been credited with saving numerous lives and improving the quality of life for hundreds of others. He is board certified in Neurosurgery and is both a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
