Trinity Health will host a pair of separate ‘Picnic with the Pilot’ events in Minot and Williston during National EMS Week, May 20-26.
Minot’s Town & Country Center parking lot will be the site of a picnic on Wednesday, May 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. The Williston picnic will be held Thursday, May 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot of Trinity Community Clinic in Western Dakota.
Area residents in both communities are welcome to attend the free picnics, which will feature hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, ice cream, and tours of Trinity’s NorthStar Criticair helicopter by the pilots and crew.
Now in its 26th year, NorthStar provides air response and rescue for all of northwestern North Dakota and eastern Montana. Late last year, Trinity Health launched a regional fixed wing emergency transport service out of Williston as a compliment to its Minot-based fixed wing and rotor wing services.
National EMS Week was first authorized in in 1974 by President Gerald Ford to bring together local communities and medical personnel to honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s front line.
“I hope the public will come out to help us recognize the lifesaving work of EMS professionals and the important work they do in our communities.”
