Trinity Health’s Nutrition Services Department will offer a cooking class, “Cooking with Spices,” Tuesday, September 10, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Trinity Health Community Conference Room at Town & Country Center.
The program is a part of a year-long series of grocery tours and cooking classes to promote healthier eating.
Trinity Health Outpatient Dietitian Kayla Cole, RDN, LRD, says the class will enhance participants’ knowledge of spices and how to use them to add flavor to meals.
“Lower sodium doesn’t have to mean tasteless,” Cole said. “Getting creative with spices can give zip to a meal and optimize flavor without compromising nutrition.”
There is a $10 charge to cover recipes and food samples. Space is limited. Interested participants are asked to register by September 9 by calling 857-5268.
