Trinity Health’s Outpatient Nutrition Services will offer a grocery store tour focusing on the Mediterranean Diet. The tour will be held Tuesday, September 8, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the original MarketPlace Foods, 1930 South Broadway.
Outpatient Dietitian Kayla Cole, RDN, LRD, will lead the tour, highlighting foods that follow the Mediterranean Diet, a pattern of eating typically high in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and olive oil. “The Mediterranean diet is a heart-healthy eating plan that blends the basics of healthy eating with the traditional flavors and cooking methods of the Mediterranean,” Cole said.
To enable social distancing, registration is required and participation will be limited. Early registration is advised. Participants are asked to bring their own mask to wear throughout the tour. To register, please call 701-857-5268 by September 7.
The event is part of a series of grocery store tours and cooking classes designed to promote healthy eating in 2020. Participants are instructed to meet at the east entrance of MarketPlace Foods, near the deli.
