What info should you zero in on? Serving size, calories, fats, sodium, sugar?
Trinity Health’s Nutrition Services Department will offer a grocery store tour, “How to Read a Food Label,” Tuesday, October 8, from 6 to 7 p.m. The tour will be held at MarketPlace Foods, 1930 South Broadway.
Food labels are a vital source of information about calories and the nutritional value of the foods, both key factors in maintaining a healthy diet.
Trinity Health Dietitian Kayla Cole, RDN, LRD, will lead participants on an aisle-by-aisle tour of the store, offering tips on how to quickly scan a Nutrition Facts label to glean the information that will give you the most nutritional bang for your buck.
Participants are instructed to meet at the east entrance of MarketPlace Foods, near the deli. RSVP is requested by calling 857-5268 by October 7.
