The Trinity Health Center for Diabetes Education will host a free program, “Stress Management,” Tuesday, September 17, at 5:30 p.m. in the Trinity Health Community Conference Room located at Town & Country Center, 1015 South Broadway.
Sarah Howard, RN, BSN, a diabetes educator, will explore the stressors that are associated with managing diabetes, such as having to check blood sugar, take medications, and make good decisions about one’s health several times a day. There’s also the worry that comes with having a disease that can lead to serious complications.
Tips will be offered to help people cope with the stress of diabetes, which include setting goals, talking to other people with diabetes, and sharing one’s frustrations with family, friends, and one’s medical provider.
The program is part of the center’s ongoing educational series, Keys to Diabetes Success. Reservations aren’t required but recommended by calling the Center for Diabetes Education at 857-5268.
