(MINOT, ND) – Trinity Health’s Nutrition Services Department will offer a cooking class, ‘Cooking with Greek Yogurt,’ Tuesday, April 10, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Trinity Health Community Conference Room at Town & Country Center.
Greek yogurt is an excellent source of protein, calcium, and probiotics and makes a substitution in many different kinds of recipes, according to Trinity Health Dietitian Kayla Cole, RDN, LRD.
‘One simple way to use Greek yogurt is to swap it for other types of ingredients like sour cream, mayonnaise, or butter,’ Cole said. ‘Not only does it save calories ñ it also lowers the amount of sodium and fat and increases the amount of protein in the recipe.’
A $10 registration fee will be charged to cover food samples. Space for the class is limited. Participants are asked to RSVP by calling 857-5268 by April 9.
The cooking class is part of a series of events by the Nutrition Services Department to promote healthier eating in 2018.
