Paul Olson, MD

Dr. Paul D. Olson received his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. He is also a 1987 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine located in Iowa City, and he completed his family practice internship and residency with the UND Family Practice Center in Bismarck, ND. He is a full time staff physician at Trinity Health where he specializes in Emergency Medicine at Trinity’s Level II Trauma Center. He is past assistant director of the Minot Center For Family Medicine Northwest Regional Campus, Minot. Dr. Olson is board certified in Family Practice. He is also an instructor in advanced cardiac life support; certified in advanced neonatal life support; certified in advanced trauma life support and basic life support. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, the American Medical Association and the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Danial Padgett, MD

Dr. Padgett worked as a respiratory therapy technician in Williston prior to entering medical school.  He graduated from the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2005 and completed his residency at the Center for Family Medicine in June 2008.

John Nelson, MD

Dr. Nelson is trained to provide general medical care for every member of the family, from infants to seniors. He can make referrals to a specialist when needed while continuing to coordinate an individual’s care. Originally from Galway, Ireland, he received his medical degree from the University of Galway. He fulfilled his internship at Altnagelvin Hospital in Northern Ireland. Dr. Nelson is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice.

Jim Miller, MD

Trinity Health is pleased to welcome Jim Miller, MD, to our team of Diagnostic Radiologists. Dr. Miller brings experience in musculoskeletal imaging, a field of radiology helpful in visualizing bones and soft tissues for the evaluation of joint problems, arthritis, trauma and sports injuries.

A 2009 graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, Dr. Miller did his transitional year of residency at Sanford Health in Fargo before completing a full four-year residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinic, Iowa City.  His academic honors include the UND School of Medicine Professionalism and Teaching Award in 2007 and the Dr. A.K. Saiki Memorial Endowment Scholarship the following year.

Throughout his educational career Dr. Miller has devoted himself to community service, volunteering as a coach and youth mentor.  A sports enthusiast, he completed his undergraduate degree at UND under an athletic scholarship where he was a member of the 2001 UND National Championship football team. Dr. Miller was born in Minot but grew up in Mohall and Stanley where he still has family.

Jake Naidu, DO

Dr. Naidu is a board-certified radiologist, in the specialty of Interventional Radiology.  He’s fellowship trained to perform image-guided procedures using needles and catheters that can diagnose and treat disease in the least invasive manner.  These include treatments for vascular conditions, cancer and diseases of most of the body’s organs.  A graduate of Michigan State University, he received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, and fulfilled his residency in diagnostic radiology at John Peter Smith Hospital, Fort Worth.  Following residency he completed a fellowship in interventional radiology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.  Dr. Naidu is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and the American College of Radiology.

Virginia Keaveny, MD

A member of our Emergency/Trauma team, Dr. Keaveny provides immediate care to people with emergent illnesses and injuries, including heart attack and stroke. A Minot native, she graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks and completed her residency training in Emergency Medicine at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education, Rochester, MN. Throughout her medical school and residency she has received numerous awards for academic excellence. Dr. Keaveny is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians and Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.

Scott E Knutson, MD

Scott E. Knutson, MD,  received his undergraduate degree in biomedical science from St. Cloud State University and received his medical doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in Vermillion.  He completed his family medicine residency at the UND Center for Family Medicine in Minot, where he served as chief resident and received the William J. Buckingham North Dakota Academy of Family Physicians and the Minot Community Preceptors Family Medicine Resident of the Year Award in 2004.

A native of Minneapolis, Minn., before joining Trinity Health, Dr. Knutson practiced at Minot Air Force Base from 1998 to 2002, serving as Chief of Medical Staff, flight surgeon, and Officer in Charge of the Flight Medicine Clinic.  He has served as clinical assistant professor of Family Medicine at UND (since 2005) and has been the director of the UND SMHS MILE Program since 2011.  In 2015, he was appointed assistant dean of the UND School of Medicine Northwest Campus.  Dr. Knutson is a member of Trinity Health’s Emergency/Trauma team and past Chief of Medical Staff at Trinity Health.  He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Christian Medical and Dental Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.

Thompson Kamba, MD

Thompson Kamba is Radiologist Board Certified in Radiology and Nuclear Radiology. He received his medical degree from the University of Zimbabwe, Harare. His residency in Radiology and fellowship in Nuclear Radiology were completed at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. In 2006 he received the Gold Apple Award for excellence in Radiology teaching. He’s a member of the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the American Medical Association, American College of Radiology, Society of Nuclear Medicine and Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

Karen J Kelly, CRNA

A certified registered nurse anesthetist, Karen J. Kelly, MS, CRNA, provides anesthesia care to patients across a wide spectrum of surgical cases.  A 1984 graduate of the former Trinity School of Nursing, Karen earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Minot State University in 2006, and received her Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, in 2009.  Prior to joining Trinity’s Anesthesia department she worked in the orthopedic and ICU units of Trinity Hospital and was a flight nurse with Northstar Criticiair.

A member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the North Dakota Association of Nurse Anesthetists, Karen is certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.  She and her husband, Chris, a member of Trinity’s Revenue Integrity staff, have four grown children, the oldest of which is Dr. Jennifer Johnson, a member of Trinity’s Ob/Gyn team.  When not juggling work schedules they enjoy camping, traveling and spending time with family.

Ann Hoff, MD

Ann M. Hoff, MD, specializes in Palliative Medicine, a program of specialized medical care for people with serious and life-limiting illnesses. As a physician fellowship trained and board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, she leads a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers and other specialists, who work with the patient’s other doctors to focus on providing relief from the stress and symptoms associated with the serious or life-limiting illness. The primary aim of Palliative Medicine is to improve quality of life for patients and their families. A Bismarck native, Dr. Hoff received her medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed an Emergency Medicine residency at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester. She was a member of Trinity’s Emergency/Trauma team for six years before leaving in 2015 to complete her palliative fellowship at the University of Minnesota. She’s a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the American College of Emergency Physicians.
