Dawn Mattern, MD, FAMSSM is board certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. She sees active patients and competitive athletes from all over the region and oversees the Trinity Sports Medicine Athletic Trainers as they serve the extended community. She received her initial training at the Center for Family Medicine in Minot and then completed a fellowship at the Ohio State University Sports Medicine Center. Upon graduation, she served as the Head Team Physician for the men’s hockey team at OSU. She returned to Minot in 2002, and has devoted her time to covering local sports teams, education of medical students and residents, all while ensuring quality care and rehabilitation of her patients. She is also a volunteer team physician with the United States Olympic Committee, US Ski and Snowboard, and the Justin Boots Sports Medicine Team with the professional rodeo. Her clinical interests include concussions and exercise as medicine.

Jerrica Maxson, AuD
Jerrica L. Maxson, AuD, is a Doctor of Audiology, skilled in all aspects of testing and diagnosis of hearing disorders with clinical interests in pediatric audiology, cochlear implant programming, and fitting/management of hearing aids for children and adults. A Minot native, she received her early audiology training at the University of North Dakota, completing her doctorate at the University of Iowa. She then completed a 4th year externship at the Central Institute for the Deaf Oral School in St. Louis, a school dedicated to teaching deaf and hard of hearing children to listen and speak for communication. She served as a pediatric cochlear implant audiologist at St. Louis Children’s Hospital before returning to her hometown to join Trinity Health.
Jerrica holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech Language Hearing Association. She is the North Dakota Chapter Champion with the American Cochlear Implant Alliance. She is professionally licensed with the North Dakota Board of Examiners for Hearing Instrument Specialists, and the North Dakota State Board of Examiners for Audiology. She has been a board member of the North Dakota Hands & Voices since institution in 2011.
Rosina Medel, MD
Rosina Medel, MD, is a neurologist board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Medel provides specialized care for patients dealing with the full spectrum of neurological disorders affecting the brain, nervous system, peripheral nerves and muscles. She received her early medical training in the Philippines, earning a nursing degree and later a medical doctorate from the University of Perpetual Help System. She migrated to the United States, where she completed a preliminary residency in Internal Medicine at Nassau University Medical Center, East Meadow, NY. She fulfilled her Neurology residency and performed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ, where she served as chief resident her final year and earned numerous awards for academic and clinical excellence. Dr. Medel is a member of the American Academy of Neurology.
Kristy Leier, FNP-C
A North Dakota native, Kristy Leier, FNP-C, received both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Family Nurse Practice from the University of Mary, Bismarck. She practiced in Trinity’s Emergency Department for 12 years as an RN, and upon completing her nurse practitioner training served several years as a provider in emergency, occupational, family and palliative medicine settings. She’s a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the North Dakota Nurse Practitioners Association, and American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Durand Jones, FNP-C
A certified nurse practitioner, Durand Jones, FNP-C, cares for patients as part of Trinity Health’s Neurology team.
He grew up in Tennessee and Texas before joining the U.S. Air Force, moving to Minot AFB in 1988. He completed his military service and pursued a career in nursing. He worked as a Registered nurse for 16 years in multiple facilities in North Dakota, South Dakota and California. He also served two years as a clinical nurse instructor at Williston State College and Dakota College at Bottineau. He has been with Trinity Health since 2007 and worked in Neurosurgery from 2012 – 2024.
He and his wife, Correen, have a son and daughter. They enjoy working on their farm taking care of animals and gardens. They now get to enjoy the benefits of being grandparents.
Jennifer Johnson, MD
As a board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist, Dr. Johnson is dedicated to providing individualized care that meets a woman’s changing needs throughout her lifetime. A graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks, she completed her Ob/Gyn residency at Akron General Medical Center in Ohio, where she gained experience in the areas of high-risk obstetrics, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, in addition to performing many minimally invasive procedures using the da Vinci robotic surgery system. She is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Medical Association. Dr. Johnson is a native of Minot.
Jessie Fauntleroy, MD
A member of our Obstetrics and Gynecology team, Jessie Fauntleroy, MD, is dedicated to providing individualized care that meets a woman’s changing needs throughout her lifetime, including high-risk obstetrics and laparoscopy. A graduate of Ross University School of Medicine, Portsmouth, Dominica, she completed her Ob/Gyn residency at SUNY University at Buffalo, where she served as chief resident and assumed leadership roles in promoting wellness among mothers and newborns. Dr. Fauntleroy also holds a Master’s Degree in Health Management Systems. A junior fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Fauntleroy is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Beta Kappa Chi Scientific Honor Society.
Ashley Evanoff, DPM
Dr. Evanoff provides surgical and nonsurgical treatment for the full range of foot and ankle disorders including structural abnormalities, diabetic foot, wounds/ulcerations, common foot problems and fractures. A Minot native and graduate of Minot High School, she received her undergraduate degree from Minot State University and went on to earn a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Midwestern University near Phoenix. She completed her DPM residency at the Phoenix VA Health Care System, where she gained valuable experience in the areas of wound care, diabetic foot and limb salvage. A member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, Dr. Evanoff enjoys running, art appreciation and being active outdoors with her husband, Minot dentist Michael Evanoff.
Lori Dockter, PA-C
Lori Dockter, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant specializing in women’s health and primary care. As a member of Trinity’s team of Ob/Gyn and Women’s Health providers, Lori provides the full range of primary care services for women of all ages, including health and wellness counseling, physical exams, menopause care, contraception management and obstetrics.
A native of Rolette, ND, Dockter earned her RN diploma from Trinity School of Nursing. She worked in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Trinity Hospital and the birthing unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She completed the physician assistant program at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Lori is a member of the ND Association of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Valentine Chikwendu, MD
Valentine Chikwendu, MD, is a board certified specialist in general cardiology. He provides diagnosis and treatment to people with cardiovascular disease, and also performs invasive/non-invasive cardiology procedures. A graduate of the University of Nigeria College of Medicine, Dr. Chikwendu completed his internal medicine residency and adult cardiology fellowship at Cooke County Hospital in Chicago. He is specially trained to assess heart function by utilizing nuclear cardiology studies and is certified by the Board of Nuclear Cardiology.
