A member of our Family Medicine team, Rachel Gruenberg, FNP-C, provides primary care to people of all ages, including annual physicals, acute care visits, treatment of infections, chronic illness management and injury assessment. Originally from Granville, ND, she attended Williston State College for her Associates Degree in Massage Therapy and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Minot State University. Rachel worked at Trinity Hospital on the Ortho/Neuro and OB/Labor & Delivery units. She completed her Master of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner through Frontier Nursing University, Hyden, KY, and worked a year in Trinity’s Radiation Oncology department at the Trinity CancerCare Center. A member of the North Dakota Nurse Practitioners Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Rachel lives in Westhope with her husband, John, who is the Superintendent/Principal of the school, which keeps them very active in the community. They have three children and enjoy spending time at the lake, traveling, and enjoying activities in the community.
Family Medicine is a primary healthcare specialty concerned with preventing, diagnosing and treating a wide variety of ailments in patients of all ages, incorporating training in Surgery, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics and Geriatric Medicine. It is based on knowledge of the patient in the context of family history and the surrounding community.
