Mohamad Baaj, MD

Dr. Baaj specializes in Hospital Medicine, a medical field that focuses on caring for patients in a hospital setting.  Dr. Baaj received his medical degree from the University of Aleppo Faculty of Medicine in Syria.  He completed his Family Medicine residency at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Northwest Campus, in Minot, where he earned a pair of residency awards Рthe Resident Award for Scholarship from the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors and the North American Primary Care Research Group, and the 2016 Resident Teacher Award from the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine in recognition of interest, ability and commitment to the field of Family Medicine.  Throughout his medical career Dr. Baaj has been active in projects and initiatives to promote health and wellness.  In addition to caring for underserved populations in Syria, he has been an active volunteer in North Dakota, making regular visits to an asthma clinic at Spirit Lake Reservation and caring for patients at Minot's City and Country Health Clinic, a primary care clinic for the uninsured.  


A physician with a primary professional focus on hospital medicine is a hospitalist. Hospitalist activities may include patient care, teaching, research, and leadership related to hospital care.
