Madhu Unnikrishnan, MD, MS

A hematologist and medical oncologist, Dr. Unnikrishnan provides expert care for cancer patients utilizing the latest cancer-fighting therapies such as chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and immunotherapy.  He’s also knowledgeable in the diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders and diseases of blood forming organs.  A graduate of B.J. Medical College, Pune, India, Dr. Unnikrishnan completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein School of Medicine/Jacobi Medical Center, Bronx, NY, and did his fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland, OH.  He also holds a master’s degree in Pathology from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, Oklahoma City.  A member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the European Society of Medical Oncology, and the American Association of Cancer Research, Dr. Unnikrishnan is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology.


Hematology includes the study of etiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and prevention of blood diseases. The laboratory work that goes into the study of blood is frequently performed by a medical technologist.


An oncologist deals with Cancer Cares and tumors including diagnosis, therapy, Surgery, and treatments.
