Kwanza Devlin, MD, joined our medical staff as a Family Medicine physician who, with Kimberly Krohn, MD, built a comprehensive, patient-centered practice at Trinity Health. Their goal is to care for patients in all stages of life (birth to death) which includes all aspects of traditional Family Medicine: home visits and nursing home care, prenatal care and deliveries, acute care and in-office procedures, pediatric and adolescent care, disease prevention and chronic disease management.
The 2013 recipient of the North Dakota Family Physician of the Year award, Dr. Devlin was actually raised in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area. After completing her medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, she pursued Family Medicine training at the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, in South Bend, Indiana. She practiced in West Valley, Utah before joining the Center for Family Medicine here in Minot in 2011. Dr. Devlin is a member of the Mid-Dakota Education Cooperative Wellness Committee for our region, ND Immunization Advisory Committee and the ND Child Passenger Safety Committee. She speaks Spanish and has participated in medical missions work in Venezuela, Mexico, and Ecuador. Her office is located at Health Center – Town & Country.
Family Medicine is a primary healthcare specialty concerned with preventing, diagnosing and treating a wide variety of ailments in patients of all ages, incorporating training in Surgery, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics and Geriatric Medicine. It is based on knowledge of the patient in the context of family history and the surrounding community.
