A member of Trinity Health's Cardiothoracic Surgery team, Caitlin M. Hylton, AGACNP-BC, is an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who specializes in the complex healthcare needs of adults and seniors. Caitlin works with doctors, nurses and ancillary staff to provide initial assessment and follow-up care to our cardiothoracic surgery patients. A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Nursing in Charlottesville, she earned a Master of Science in Acute Care Nursing from Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies in Washington, DC, in 2016. Her experience includes managing post-op care of cardiovascular patients at hospitals in Philadelphia and Shreveport, LA.
Cardiac Surgery is a Surgery on the heart and great vessels performed by cardiac surgeons. It is done often to treat complications of ischemic heart disease, correct congenital heart disease, or treat valvular heart disease.
