Trinity Health Foundation provided funding for Trinity Health Sports Medicine to offer a free strength training clinic for overhead athletes. Overhead athletes are athletes who participate in sports in which the upper limbs are used in an overhead position such as in baseball, softball, volleyball, and swimming. The clinic was for coaches, strength and conditioning specialists, parents, and athletes. The guest presenter at the event was Eric Munson, ATC, CSCS, a Kenmare native and NDSU graduate, who currently serves as assistant athletic trainer for the Los Angeles Angels. Munson discussed injury prevention for the overhead athlete and gave recommendations to participants on strength training techniques specific to those sports.
