OUTPATIENT NUTRITION
Trinity’s Outpatient Nutrition Education program is aimed at helping people reduce their risk of developing disease through nutrition counseling. Individualized eating plans are designed to assist people in managing conditions such as Type I and II diabetes, celiac disease (gluten intolerance), eating disorders and obesity. The program is also aimed at identifying people who are “pre-diabetic” due to history, overweight or inactivity, and setting them on a path toward reducing their risk. One-on-one sessions focus on healthy foods, understanding labels, exercise, and ways to fit change into your lifestyle. “With all the research on nutrition and disease, it’s become clear that people can reduce their risk of developing disease or decrease its severity by improving the way they eat,” says Program Coordinator Kathy Larson, RD. “Not only does that benefit individuals, it can reduce the overall cost of healthcare.” For information, call 701-857-2809.
