Teleconference Focuses On Cultural Difference at Life’s End “Diversity and End-of-Life Care” will be the topic of a free teleconference on bereavement issues April 29th from noon to 3 p.m. at Health Center-Riverside, 1900 8th Avenue SE. Trinity Health will host a local showing of the event, which is produced by the Hospice Foundation of America. Frank Sesno, Professor of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University and a CNN special correspondent, will lead a distinguished panel of experts in a discussion of cultural diversity and how it influences end-of-life decision making and care. Specific issues include the role of healthcare professionals and whether their own cultural values influence the delivery of care. Also discussed will be the challenges that occur when culture considerations cause ethical concerns or moral distress. Caregivers, other professionals and members of the public are welcome to attend. Continuing education credits are available. To pre-register, call the Trinity Staff Development Department at 857-3116.
