‘Doc Walk’ Invites Doctors & Patients To Get Active

(MINOT, ND)—Trinity Health is urging the public to take a walk with their “doc” this coming Wednesday. A “Doc Walk” has been scheduled May 6, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Minot’s Oak Park as part of “Exercise is Medicine” Month.

Exercise is Medicine is an initiative of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Association. Its aim is to encourage all healthcare professionals to discuss exercise with their patients, and conversely, to encourage patients to feel comfortable starting the conversation with their healthcare provider.

In addition to the Doc Walk, Trinity has planned various events during the month of May to raise awareness about the importance of exercise, including educational talks, information packets for medical providers and encouraging Trinity employees to wear special buttons that say, “Ask me about my tennis shoes.”
