Trinity CancerCare Center: Accreditation
Trinity’s cancer care program has joined the ranks of those awarded “Accreditation with Commendation” from the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer.
Just one in four cancer programs in the country are accredited by the College of Surgeons. Even fewer achieve commendation, the highest level of accreditation.
Accreditation with Commendation is awarded when a program complies with all standards and additionally demonstrates a high level of compliance with one or more of the six standards that comprise the full scope of cancer service.
Trinity received commendations in three of the six areas: clinical trial accrual, prevention & early detection, and cancer-related quality improvements.
Approval by the Commission on Cancer is voluntary, based on a thorough review of a program’s services and processes. To maintain approval, facilities must undergo a review every three years. is hard at work in identifying and effectively treating infections that arise from exposure to infectious diseases.
