Darren Armstrong, MSM, coordinator of the Joint Replacement Center and Geriatric Fracture Program for Trinity Health, has been promoted to Director of Therapy Services.

Armstrong will oversee an umbrella department that encompasses inpatient and outpatient Physical, Occupational, Hand and Speech therapies; Exercise Physiology, Sports Medicine, and the therapies associated with RehabCare.  He'll also provide oversight for the Joint Replacement and Geriatric Fracture programs.

"I feel very fortunate to have this chance to be an advocate for departments and programs I've worked closely with and provided patient care in," Armstrong said.  "We have a solid foundation of excellence in our system.  I'm familiar with the tasks at hand and the opportunities we have going forward."
A Mohall native, he graduated in 1992 from North Dakota State University in Fargo with a bachelor's degree in athletic training/sports medicine.  He later earned an Associate of Applied Science of Physical Therapy degree from Williston State College.

He served as a staff athletic trainer at New Ulm Medical Center in Minnesota from 1992 to 2000, when he joined Trinity's Sports Medicine Department as an athletic trainer and physical therapy assistant.  After completing a Master's in Management degree from Minot State University in 2007, he transitioned to coordinate a new center of excellence that Trinity was establishing in hip and knee replacement.  That initiative achieved a milestone in 2009 when it was named a Blue Distinction Center for Hip and Knee Replacement surgery.

Armstrong is co-president of the Dakota Rattlers Wrestling Club and serves on the board for the Minot Youth Baseball Association.  He has his wife, Amy, have two children. SPACE index.php
