Maxbass Couple Welcome First Baby at Trinity Hospital in 2017
Tayler Moser, of Maxbass, holds her newborn son, Jasen Thomas Moser, on the morning of January 1, 2017. Jasen, the first baby born at Trinity Hospital in 2017, was born shortly after 5 a.m.
(MINOT, ND) – It was shortly after the ball dropped, ushering in the new year, when Tayler Moser of Maxbass began to have contractions, and in a few short hours, Jasen Thomas Moser entered the world as Tayler and Matthew Moser’s first son, a little brother, and the first child born at Trinity Hospital in 2017.
Between the blizzard that took place during the Christmas weekend and the impending storm this week, the Mosers were rather nervous about being stranded at home in Maxbass, especially as their son’s due date was December 31. “Last weekend, we stayed in town. Just in case,” Tayler said.
Jasen was born at 5:02 a.m., and weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces. He joins a sister, Ryan Elizabeth, who will be two years old in a few months. “She likes her baby dolls,” Tayler said, noting that she isn’t sure what type of reception Ryan will have for her new brother.
The Trinity Health Auxiliary presented a gift basket, which includes gifts for the baby and a gift card for the parents to enjoy an evening out, to mother and child on Sunday morning. The giving of the New Year’s Baby gift basket has become a tradition for the Auxiliary, which has the objective of providing funding and support through its volunteer time and financial resources to the enhancement of the overall mission of Trinity Health.
