(MINOT, ND)— Trinity Home Health earned high scores in the latest comparison of home health agencies published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Trinity achieved five stars, the highest possible rating, for high scores in patient satisfaction. The rating is based on surveys of patients or their families regarding the care provided by Trinity Home Health during the period of April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016.
“The surveys tell you what patients have to say about their home healthcare experiences; and because all patients answer the same survey questions it’s possible to make comparisons between agencies,” said Home Health/Hospice Director Terri Nelson.
Trinity also earned an excellent score in the “Quality of Patient Care” category, achieving a four-star rating. Four stars indicate a home health service is above average on nine of the quality measures, including the extent to which patients received care in a timely manner, were given a flu shot, received education about medications, and whether the patient showed improvement in terms of mobility, bathing, and getting in and out of bed.
“These scores reflect our staff’s hard work and commitment to providing high quality care to our patients,” Nelson said. “Everyone in the department played a valuable role in meeting these standards.”
CMS compares the performance of home health services across the U.S. and reports the findings on its website, www.medicare.gov/homehealthcompare.
