(MINOT, ND)— The Trinity Health Center for Diabetes Education will host a free program, “Managing Diabetes: It’s Not Easy But It’s Worth It,” Tuesday, May 2, at the Holiday Inn-Riverside.
Dr. Eric Johnson, associate professor at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, will be featured as guest speaker. A physician and diabetologist with experience managing his own diabetes, Dr. Johnson cares for patients with all types of diabetes and has a special interest in cutting-edge diabetes technology.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with vendor and educational displays on various topics, including stroke, heart attack, nutrition and diabetes. Snacks will be served.
Dr. Johnson will speak at 6:30 p.m., and an awards ceremony will begin at 7:25 p.m. to present several Lilly Journey Awards. The Lilly Diabetes Journey Awards program recognizes people with type 1 diabetes who have successfully managed diabetes with insulin for 10, 25, 50, or 75 years.
The event, supported in part by the St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation, is another in a series of Trinity-sponsored programs and events to help people manage diabetes. Reservations aren’t required but recommended by calling the Center for Diabetes Education at 857-5268.
