Jeffrey Verhey MD

Dr. Verhey is board certified in Pulmonary Medicine with special training in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory and lung disorders. He is also board certified in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. In addition to maintaining an active clinical practice, Dr. Verhey serves as medical director of Trinity's Respiratory Care Division, Home Health/Hospice, and the Intensive Care Unit of Trinity Hospital. He was appointed medical director of Trinity's helicopter ambulance, NorthStar Criticair, in 2000. He previously served as the Chief of Medical Staff at Trinity Hospitals from 2002 to 2008 and currently serves on the medical staff Executive Committee as the immediate past Chief of Staff. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Dakota at Vermillion. He completed his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine and residency in internal medicine at the University of Missouri, Columbia. A native of Madison, South Dakota, Dr. Verhey and his wife, Janelle, have four children.

Pulmonary medicine deals with many diseases and conditions, including: ARDS, asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, lung transplants, occupational lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary tuberculosis, sarcoidosis of the lungs, and SARS.
