A member of our Emergency Medicine team, Mary Sadler is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing Minot State University and received her master's from the Family Nurse Practitioner program at the University Mary in Bismarck. She previously practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a Family Practice Clinic in Bossier City, LA. In Bossier City, she cared for all ages from child to elderly providing complete assessment, diagnosis, and plan of call for all patients daily. She also has 12 years of nursing experience including in the Emergency Trauma Center at Trinity Hospital from 2003 to 2009. She has a vast knowledge in a wide variety of areas including family practice, emergency, orthopedics, neurology, oncology and rehabilitation.
Mary is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Louisiana Nurse Practitioners Association and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing. She has certifications in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced cardiac life support and trauma nursing core.
An emergency medicine physician receives training to care for patients with acute illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. While not providing long-term or continuing care, they diagnose a variety of illnesses and undertake various interventions to stabilize patients.
