Russell Gust holds a Master's degree in Exercise Science from the University of North Dakota, where he also served as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Fighting Sioux Athletics for 3 years. He attended undergraduate school at Minnesota State University - Moorhead and attained a B.S. in Fitness and Sport Science.
Russell has over 18 years of experience in the world of fitness and performance enhancement. He has assisted people of all fitness levels in reaching their goals, including geriatric, physical rehabilitation, High School, NCAA Division I and II and professional athletes, cancer patients, stroke and MS patients, weekend warriors, and the "average Joe". His areas of specialization include core and balance enhancement, and strength training for weight loss.
Russell believes in a comprehensive approach to wellness, including physical activity, nutrition education, and behavior modification strategies. He makes certain that each and every one of his clients achieves some level of improvement in their overall wellness. He is a Certified Level 1 Coach with the United States Association of Track and Field (USATF) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
In 2011, Russell became a Certified Cancer Exercise Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. This credential has allowed him to work with cancer patients in a whole new way, assisting them in improving strength, energy and overall quality of life.
