Cami Knapkewicz, FNP-BC, WHNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner with a special interest in women's health. She provides primary healthcare services to people of all ages, from newborns to geriatric care. This includes children, teens, adults and seniors – both male and female. A nursing graduate of Dickinson State University, she earned master's degrees from the University of Phoenix and the Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus. She recently earned a post master's certificate from the University of Massachusetts, Boston for Family Nurse Practitioner. >
Obstetrics is the surgical specialty dealing with the care of women and their children during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. Midwifery is the non-surgical equivalent. Gynecology is the medical practice dealing with the female reproductive system.
Family Medicine is a primary healthcare specialty concerned with preventing, diagnosing and treating a wide variety of ailments in patients of all ages, incorporating training in Surgery, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics and Geriatric Medicine. It is based on knowledge of the patient in the context of family history and the surrounding community.
