It’s especially beneficial to heart failure patients for whom treatment options are limited. During a therapy session, inflatable cuffs are wrapped around the patient’s legs and inflated in sequence with the heart’s pumping rhythm. Patients are usually treated for one hour a day, five days a week for seven weeks - a total of 35 hours. EECP has been shown to improve the quality of life for many patients by reducing pain, easing discomfort and promoting a return to a normal lifestyle.
