The CancerCare Cottage will be filled with love and
support from strangers who quickly become family.

Facing Cancer is Hard
Having to travel out of town for treatment can make it even harder. Scheduled to open in late 2008, the
CancerCare Cottage, will be the place where cancer patients and their families can find help and hope when home
is far away. The CancerCare Cottage will offer cancer patients and their families a temporary place to stay
when their best hope for effective treatment is away from home. Not having to worry about where to stay allows
cancer patients to focus on the most important thing: getting well. Simply put, the CancerCare Cottage is
being created to ease the burden of cancer treatment where we can give hope a home.
Making the CancerCare Cottage a Home
In January of 2008 a young wife and mother from the Upham/Glenburn area lost her 4-year battle to cancer. Instead
of grieving and not knowing how to carry on, her family decided to help other cancer patients. This family,
through their love and generosity, are building the CancerCare Cottage. The CancerCare Cottage will offer much
more than just lodging. It will provide a nurturing, home-like environment where patients and their caregivers
can retreat to a private bedroom or connect with other patients in the shared living areas.
Your Opportunity to Help
Contributions are being accepted to provide our cancer patients with all the comforts of home. All
contributions received will be used to purchase the furnishing for the two cottages.
