Description
Each session provides extensive information regarding exercise and breathing techniques, labor/delivery, anesthesia and analgesia, C-section, early postpartum, newborn care, and newbord feedings. Also includes a tour of the Family Birth Center.

Participants should pre-register early, but attend classes during the last 6-8 weeks of pregnancy. Enrollment is limited. Please call 723-3950 to register.

Diversity and End-of-Life Care

Description
Free teleconference on bereavement issues. Trinity Health will host a local showing of the event, which is produced by the Hospice Foundation of America.

Frank Sesno, Professor of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University and a CNN special correspondent, will lead a distinguished panel of experts in a discussion of cultural diversity and how it influences end-of-life decision making and care.

Specific issues include the role of healthcare professionals and whether their own cultural values influence the delivery of care. Also discussed will be the challenges that occur when culture considerations cause ethical concerns or moral distress.

Caregivers, other professionals and members of the public are welcome to attend. Continuing education credits are available. To pre-register, call the Trinity Staff Development Department at 857-3116.
